Hoek 76 Business Park is a modern office complex where sustainability and efficient energy use are central. The park actively invests in renewable energy and seeks smart solutions to make the most of its own energy production. This project focuses on further optimizing energy management and increasing energy independence.
Problem statement
Although the office building already has 30 kWp of solar panels, it cannot use a large portion of the generated energy on-site. The excess electricity is fed back into the grid at low rates, meaning the full potential of the installation is not utilized. The challenge, therefore, is: how can the building retain as much of its own green energy on-site and become more independent and sustainable?

The Hoek 76 office building makes a decisive move toward sustainable energy by expanding its existing 30 kWp solar installation with an ES Flow battery. Thanks to this technology, the company can now retain a much larger share of its green electricity on-site, reducing reliance on the grid. The choice of a flow battery is deliberate: it is highly sustainable, safe, and designed for an extremely long lifespan, preparing the building for a future in which energy autonomy is key.
